Is It Easy to Get Cartridges Through Tsa
How hard is it to get THC vape pens through airport screens?
As a preface, it is illegal to transport cannabis or any concentrated form of it through national and international flights, barring a few exceptions flying within recreationally legal states. If you are caught with cannabis, you could face prison time.
THC cartridges are extremely easy to detect, but it's unlikely you'll busted or even stopped for bringing one.
Put them in your carry-on bag and go through security like normal. Nine times out of ten, they won't even notice and you'll be fine. If they do and decide to remove it from your bag to inspect it, they'll ask you what kind of liquid it is. Just say nicotine. They have no way of testing otherwise and have to take your word for it, so they'll just let you keep it.
I know people who've flown with THC cartridges dozens of times, with most of them never having been stopped. When they are, they simply say it's a nicotine e-cigarette and carry on with their flight.
In Canada, you are permitted. It is the customs officers, if you travel across the border, that may be the finders of said devices.
Airport security (TSA agents) could possibly adjust their search criteria based on your destination when scanning the boarding pass at the security checkpoint, however, TSA employees don't make enough for them to give a flying fiddle about those logistics. 🙂

Apparently you can bring a vaporizer on the plane with you. As long as it is in your carry on baggage. Do not put a vaporizer in your checked baggage. The battery could explode in the planes cargo hold. As far as a Cannabis vaporizer?(which is what I was originally talking about.) I would still say no, this is not a good idea. The TSA still prohibits the transport of Cannabis because of federal law. If you have any residue inside the vaporizer you could be in trouble. As it states on the TSA website though "The final action rest with the TSA agent" Meaning they can ask you to remove your vaporizer if they want. Which was my experience when I was at BWI. If it were me? I would put the Cannabis oil inside a CBD oil bottle (inside my luggage). That way, if a drug dog does detect it, they will just assume its the CBD oil that alerted the dog. Considering the possible outcome/penalty if caught, is this really worth it? If caught you will be escorted off the plane and could face possible charges. Smuggling a drug on to a plane is a worse charge then simple possession. Also be aware of other countries laws regarding things like this. For example, if your are caught trying to smuggle in cannabis to say Australia, you will be prosecuted and never be allowed to enter that country again.
We are after weapons, guns, knives, explosives, and incendiaries. If we happen to come across your weed on plain sight during a bag search, we will call the attention of an airport LEO and they will deal with you about it. Other than that, we are not actively looking for it.

Yup. Do it all the time. I've even taken them to Mexico and back without any issues. Nobody can visually tell the difference between your cannabis oil cartridge and an other vape liquid cartridge. And the airport scanners aren't going to magically be able to tell it's cannabis oil either, so don't worry about that. Just be cool, put them in your bag like anything else and just go have fun on your trip.

If it is inconspicuous and doesn't reek of weed, let alone have any scent at all, (preferably) you will be fine with hardly any need for luck. Just go about your business and keep it with your carry-on luggage/ personal item. Before you are at the airport or at least before you pass through security controls, separate the elements of the device. If any printed information is able to be removed, do so prior to airport grounds. Wipe it clean with ammonia based solvent and go about your day. Should be fine.
Maybe just don't travel to places like SE Asia with items that can have you imprisoned or result in punishments like "hanging from the neck until dead." That would harsh your buzz, man.
The definition of "too risky" depends on your threshold for risk.
There are people I know who have flown from Colorado to other, non-medicinal/non-legal states with many grams of oil, without incident.
I also know at least one person whose flight was canceled and their transit re-routed through DFW, where a prior report by TSA targeted their checked bag that had about 1 gram of oil in a cartridge. They were arrested in TX, the cartridge and other items were seized, and they were released hours after their plane departed, having posted $500 bail that they knew they would never get back (and they cannot go to Texas again).
People fly with cannabis on just about every flight, a small number encounter difficulties.
Do you feel lucky?
It's all good. I put it in my pocket and went right on the plane to Austria this past November. I also have flown with it to Florida, California and wherever else. My looks like an e-cigarette with some special oil in the cartridge. Don't sweat it, you'll be fine.

The TSA is not a law enforcement agency and shouldn't care one way or the other whether what you have in your baggage. Their sole responsibility is to prevent dangerous items from being carried on a plane.
Other law enforcement agencies may be at or near TSA checkpoints, and with probable cause might search your baggage for contraband, but TSA isn't supposed to be concerned with that.

When you say vape cartridge, I'm assuming you mean nicotine. Why would you put it in your checked bag? Put it in your carry on with the battery.
And if you did mean weed, again, just stick it in your carry on. TSA isn't there for drug interdiction. Granted, if you have a kilo or blow, they are going to tell the cops, but they don't care about a vape cartridge.
And if you are underage, and trying to hide it from your parents, don't just stick it in your bag. TSA isn't there to rat out kids to their parents about underaged vaping.
And my response is for domestic travel in the US. If you are going to another country, their laws apply. But I've gone to Europe numerous times with a refillable vape pen and vape juice.
Yes most certainly dogs can detect the terpenes and other chemicals in a marijuana vape pen. Vaping Cannabis doesn't completely eliminate the smell of marijuana, just reduces it. And vape particulate in a plume of vapour tends to not saturate or penetrate the items (clothing, etc) that are near it the way smoke does.

Just don't!!! I know it's really a nice idea, but honestly it's not worth it. I had flown a couple times with carts, until the time I got stopped and they found one in my toiletry bag. I was luckily enough for them to dispose of it, but the TSA agents said,"you are lucky I'm having a nice day". If I hadn't been so lucky, I would of faced some pretty serious charges. Everyone says to do it, until YOU are the one to get caught. I know you are probably looking for answers supporting flying with carts but trust me, it is not worth the risk. You really wanna throw your future away so you can get high? Find someone or a place at your destination to buy from, don't fly with it! even if you do get through TSA, airports do have Drug dogs aswell! You'll see people say,"they're only bomb dogs, you're good", this is the case for the majority of the time, however I flown into Miami, LaGuardia, Denver, before and they all had drug dogs once arriving. And if you are dumb enough to ever put your vape and cart in checked luggage, you are risking the lives of all the passengers on board! so here's the short answer.
DONT BRING IT
